Tim serves as Growing Washington’s Farm and Food Systems Director. Tim is in charge of keeping up to date with national, regional and statewide activity and policy movement (the big picture) and then helping Growing Washington implement progressive, on-the-ground action in response to the needs of the larger communities we strive to represent. So, in this regard, he is tasked with keeping up with the grass tops, waiting and gathering the seeds of opportunity, and then dispersing the seeds back down to the grass roots. Tim also has a strong interest in scaling up the programs and activities of Growing Washington, essentially taking what we’ve started at the grass roots and expanding our activities into the larger playing field. Tim’s work is both deductive and inductive in nature.

Tim is also the father of two beautiful daughters, the husband of a patient wife, the Coordinator of the Puget Sound Food Network, a leader in Washington’s Good Food Movement, an avid policy wonk, and a decent farm hand. In his spare time Tim loves coming up with new project ideas, dabbling in photography, and kicking the ball around with the kids.
