Carrie Palk
Restaurant Coordinator, Chef in the Making, Jill of All Trades

Carrie is originally from the Ohio, but she has since wised up and now calls the great Pacific Northwest home. Carrie leads Growing Washington’s restaurant programs in King County, and helps facilitate the movement of food from more rural farmers (like those located in Whatcom County) into urban markets. Carrie has forged strong and lasting connections with the chef community in Seattle, and her passion for food has led her to actually begin formal chef school. When Carrie is not leading our efforts to tangibly connect farm food with local restaurants, she is active in our farming projects. She spends a couple days a week on the farm helping with harvest and putting together our CSAs and she also serves as the manager of the Wallingford Farmers Market every Wednesday (which she has grown into a formidable mid-week market for our organization) and regularly helps out at the University Market each Saturday. Carrie also helps out with our prepared food projects and event planning. So, she really serves as a Jill-of-all-Trades within our organization. In the future, we see Carrie serving as Growing Washington’s official chef, and we are banking on her unique abilities to help us realize our long-term goal of opening our own restaurant or restaurants.
