The River and Fish Guy

When it comes to watershed or other environmental issues, Aaron is Growing Washington’s go-to guy. He is a river reader, an ecologist, a soft-heart, a conservationist sportsman, an environmental advocate, and a whiskey drinker. Don’t get caught littering a river when Aaron is around.

Aaron was born and raised in the hills of Southwestern Colorado.  Since leaving Colorado he has lived in Montana, Washington and Oregon, and has spent more time sleeping deep in the woods and casting for trout than anyone since Ed Abbey. He rightly calls the entire West his home.  He is a die-hard for camping, fishing, hunting and barbeques.  His favorite companion is his Springer Spaniel named Bliss.  Aaron and Bliss spend their summers doing stream work for state and federal agencies by day and fly fishing by night.

Aaron hopes to someday have a self-sustaining farm where he can grow veggies and have a herd of dogs.  His goal for Growing Washington is to improve the environmental integrity of Washington and the greater Northwest, bridge gaps between environmentalists, recreational users, and farmers, and hold an annual fish derby and watermelon seed spitting contest.
