Jay serves as the President of Growing Washington. Following the precedent of recent presidential elections, we didn't know exactly what to do with Jay so we put him in power. So far, so good. His rounded portfolio of professional, personal and academic experiences makes him a jack of all trades and master of one-telling long-winded folk stories that would embarrass Garrison Keillor or Paul Harvey. Jay helps in the general guidance of Growing Washington, presides over the Board, and focuses his efforts on promoting and developing sustainable community projects.

Jay was born in the mountains of Colorado .  He grew up fishing, camping, golfing, schooling, and helping his Grandpa D in his garden.  Jay whipped through college with a B.A. in Communications. Since then he has been beating off Harvard with a stick, leading community initiatives, and developing his auctioneering skills.

Jay has been known as the youngest general manager in the history of a giant corporation, the best bartender in town, a stud dealer for the elderly in assisted living situations, a youth basketball coach, and a certified horse stall cleaner. He has the t-shirts to prove it.

After living all over the Northwest, he has settled down in Washington with the goals of developing stronger agricultural and environmental ties, developing on-the-ground community building projects, and helping Growing Washington enrich the lives of all Washingtonians we have contact with.
