Growing Washington is currently building its farm team for the 2009 season.We are actively looking to fill the following positions:

Market Manager
The Market Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our farmers market stands including hiring and managing a staff, planning and overseeing harvests and food processing, record keeping, market stand set-up and break down, maintaining quality standards and providing excellent customer service.

The Market Manager needs to be able to work long hours, lift 40-50 pounds repeatedly, and drive a large van or small truck. Market stand staff must have the ability to take and give direction, have high quality standards, be detail oriented, work quickly and maintain a positive attitude. Excellent interpersonal skills are also required to work as part of a team and provide great customer service. Previous experience working farmers market stands a plus.

Market Stand Staff
Market Stand Staff are responsible for market stand set-up and break down, and customer service. Must be able to work long hours, lift 40-50 pounds repeatedly, and drive a large van or small truck. Market stand staff must have the ability to take direction, have high quality standards, be detail oriented, work quickly and maintain a positive attitude. Excellent interpersonal skills are also required to work as part of a team and provide great customer service. Previous experience working farmers market stands a plus.

Field Laborers
Field laborers are responsible for all aspects of farm work including planting, transplanting, weeding, watering, fertilizing and harvesting. Hours are long and physically demanding.

Field laborers must have the ability to take direction, have high quality standards, be detail oriented, work quickly and maintain a positive attitude as part of a team. A background in farming is a plus, but training will be provided to the right people.

Food Processors/Packers
Food processors/packers are responsible for getting food from the field to various markets. Food processors/packers will harvest, wash, grade and pack food. Some crops will be bunched for market while others will be packed into boxes for CSA delivery.

Food processors/packers must have the ability to take direction, have high quality standards, be detail oriented, work quickly and maintain a positive attitude as part of a team. A background in farming is a plus, but training will be provided to the right people.
