How It Works
The Growing Whatcom CSA is as convenient as it is fun, healthy and environmentally friendly. Each week (or every other week if you have a half share) you simply throw your empty box from the previous week in the back of your car, stop by your chosen pick-up location (the Local Food Exchange farm stand in downtown Bellingham or Alm Hill Gardens in Everson) each Thursday between 12:00 and 6:00 and a new box will be packed and waiting for you! If you fancy, you can also pick up your eggs, coffee, butter, cheese, milk and bread, too. And, while you are there, you can select from a ton of other great items stocked at the Local Food Exchange. That's it! Just repeat for 20 weeks.

Did we mention that with the Growing Whatcom CSA you get to support local farmers and actively protect our environment while enjoying some of the freshest, highest quality produce in Whatcom County ? It's true and we are proud of it! Simply sign-up online or use the printable mailer and let us know whether you'd like a full share or a half share and selecting any add-ons you'd like to receive. Our participating farmers will harvest your fresh, organically grown food and almost always have it to you in less than 24 hours.

Local, organic food is also a good value! On average, our members pay 5-10% less for the produce they receive than if they were to buy the same food at the farmer's market or organic grocery store. Further, because you are purchasing a share in several farms at once, you can be sure that you will be provided with an excellent variety of locally grown specialty crops, making the Growing Whatcom CSA a better value than a CSA from a single farm.
