Growing Washington Makes Eating Local Easy!
Our Local Choice Food Box is an easy way to have local, chemical-free food grown specifically for you by some of Washington's finest farmers.
Your farmers at Growing Washington, along with over 50 other specialty crop growers, will take care of feeding you this season. We grow and harvest your food, pack your personalized box, and deliver it to your neighborhood, home, or workplace in less than 36 hours.
But remember, all of our food is grown locally. You will have to go the store for your bananas and grapefruit, or tomatoes if you want them before mid-July. Check out our crop list and crop calendar to see the great tasting foods that can be grown in Washington and when they are available!
Customer Service
Once the season begins our friendly staff will be in constant contact with you. We'll send you weekly reminders to order your food and pick up your box, and will also keep you informed about what is going on at the farm through weekly newsletters. Because we grow such a great variety of food--well over 100 products will be available to you during the peak of the season--we also include easy to understand recipes to help you eat healthy and in-season! You just log on to our website, choose the items you want from our order page, and leave the rest to us. We will harvest and wash the crops you want, pack your box, deliver it to your neighborhood, home or office. And if too many choices seems overwhelming, we have affordable "farmer choice" boxes, too, which contain peak of the season items that we choose for you.
Season Dates
The Local Choice Food Box has two seasons of deliveries:
SUMMER Season: 20 weeks, Thursday, June 19th; through Sunday, November 2nd.
- featuring a delivery of boxes on Thursdays & Sundays. Including Workplace CSA Delivery!
FALL Season: 4 weeks, Thursday, November 5th; through November 26th.
- featuring delivery ONLY Thursdays! Special ending delivery day prior Thanksgiving!
Because our food is grown locally by us and other local farmers and not ordered each week from a distributor, we do ask that people sign up for the whole season. We plan our crops, buy seed, plant fields and hire labor based on the number of customers we have. Therefore we cannot accommodate the fluctuations of week to week participation.
However, we also understand that subscribing to something for twenty weeks is not a typical experience for the American consumer--therefore we do have a payment plan option and will gladly refund your money if you find our food or program doesn't meet your needs.
We are more than happy to accommodate your vacations; just let us know ahead of time what you need. And if you ever receive an item that doesn't meet your expectations, please let us know. We are happy to replace it, no questions asked.
